Tell us a bit more about yourself.
I was born and raised in Miami and have two grown children, four stepchildren with my amazing husband, Erick, and a dog. I started as the first Goosehead agency in Florida, then moved my agency to Texas eight years ago.

Before selling insurance, I worked in the orthodontic industry for 20 years. During that time, I volunteered in Haiti helping kids with their dental needs and providing education. I was chairwomen for Hispanic Real Estate Brokers Association in 2021 and served other board roles prior to that.

I am currently on the board of Helping Hands 4 the Homeless of North Texas and am on the committee for Cuidado Casero Foundation, which provides nursing students with scholarships through fundraising events. Additionally, I am on the board of the Women’s Council of Realtors, Fort Worth Tarrant Network, serving as the 2024 and 2025 Membership Director.

Why did you decide to make the switch to Goosehead and what’s your favorite thing about owning a franchise?
Goosehead has better service, better leadership, and promises to surpass the largest captured insurance companies in the country! I like the financial freedom it offers, as well as being able to help others reach financial freedom. I currently have three producers and would like to grow my team by one or two more each year.

What is the biggest trend you’re seeing in the industry right now affecting your business?
There is a lack of product, which has made us pivot and offer more Excess & Surplus (E&S) products. But with Goosehead’s choice model, we can do that and still thrive. This is an industry that can withstand the ups and downs—everyone needs insurance.

Tell us about a career moment you’re most proud of.
I jumped into an industry I knew nothing about and was successful. Then I moved from one franchise to purchasing another Goosehead branch. I started both from scratch, from only one policy into what I have today. I like being able to help families, educate my clients, and see my producers fly on their own.

What do you enjoy most about being part of Goosehead?
The comradery. I love being able to ask colleagues questions and receive several responses. I often tap into my colleagues’ advice, as well as the resources Goosehead provides, like webinars and educational events.

What advice would you give to those interested in opening an insurance franchise?
Live on ramen noodles for 1-2 years so you can then live on filet mignon and lobster! I say that jokingly, but it is partially true. If you work hard, put in the long hours, and commit to growing a team to scale, you will be successful.
